Abuja Metropolitan Lions Club has expressed commitment to provide treatment for children suffering from cancer.

The president of the club, Mrs Ladi Aliyu-Okojie, gave the assurance at her investiture ceremony as the 13th president of Abuja Metropolitan Lions Club and fund raising in Abuja.

In her acceptance speech Aliyu-Okojie identified her 2022/2023 tenure as a unique opportunity to serve at a higher level within the Lions Club International focusing on children in School of the Blind and children suffering from cancer.

She said the intervention, being part of Lions Club international mandates of sight preservation, was to restore the dignity of the children and give them their pride of place in the society.

Aliyu-Okojie urged every stakeholder and well-meaning Nigerians to key into the dream of “helping our immediate society and humanity as we strive for a better Nigeria.”

The president who identified Lions Club intervention as complimenting government’s efforts however urged the government to partner with the organisation, saying that such partnership will go a long way in providing succour to the society.
