The president-elect, Berom Community Association Abuja, Nigeria (BECA), Engr David Dung, has said his victory at the association general election will bring fundamental changes to the community and Plateau State.
Dung who disclosed this in his acceptance speech yesterday said there can never be an election without the electorate, adding that BECA members did not only show commitment to making the organisation better but showed passion, desire, and willingness to risk all for the future of the association.
Excos elected during the election include vice president Mr Bitrus, general secretary Mr Gyang Fwogos, assistant secretary Mr Musa Chung, financial secretary Mr Joshua Choji, Treasurer Mr John Haruna, PRO Mrs Hannatu Ukoyonoh, and director of Socials Mr Pwajok Jat.
The elected officials, according to the association Constitution will serve a tenure of three years.
Dung said the election was a demonstration of the capacity of the association as a role model within the FCT and environs.
“The saying goes, ‘finest of gold must be purified through the hottest fire’ and we are super glad that everything made us stronger and better.
“To our opponent, we sincerely appreciate you for raising the bar. It will be on record that you pioneer the first-ever keenly contested elections in BECA,” he said.
