MTN Nigeria, in partnership with the School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University, has opened applications for the fourth edition of the MTN Media Innovation Programme (MTN MIP-4).

Set to commence on May 19, 2025, at Pan-Atlantic University’s Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos campus, the programme offers an immersive learning experience covering media, technology, and content creation. It is open to journalists, broadcasters, digital content creators, and professionals from print, electronic, and online media.

Participants will gain deeper insights into Nigeria’s technology sector, the intersection of media and innovation, and strategies to enhance storytelling in the digital age.

A key highlight of the fellowship is an international study visit to the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, offering global perspectives on media trends and digital transformation.

Chief corporate services & sustainability officer at MTN Nigeria, Tobe Okigbo, emphasised the impact of the initiative since its launch in 2022. “MIP was designed to empower media professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to thrive in today’s fast-changing industry. The success of past participants has been truly inspiring, and we are excited to support another 20 fellows in this journey,” he said.

Dean of the School of Media and Communication at Pan-Atlantic University, Dr. Ikechukwu Obiaya, highlighted the programme’s role in shaping the future of media in Nigeria. “As the media landscape evolves, it is crucial to develop professionals who can drive innovation and uphold ethical journalism. Through MIP-4, we aim to foster creativity, adaptability, and excellence among the next generation of media leaders,” he stated.

At the end of the fellowship, the 20 fellows will gain industry-relevant skills, mentorship from Pan-Atlantic University’s faculty, and access to professional networks. The training will equip them with the tools needed for career advancement, financial success, and a greater impact in the media industry. Applications are now open, and eligible media professionals are encouraged to apply.
