The lawmaker representing Orumba North/Orumba South Federal Constituency of Anambra State in the House of Representatives, Clara Nnabuife, has officially defected from the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Her defection was announced during Thursday’s plenary session, with Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, who presided over proceedings in the absence of Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, reading her formal letter of defection to the House.

Explaining her decision, Nnabuife cited her exclusion from YPP’s activities as a key reason for leaving the party. “The exclusion from the activities of YPP and the need to embrace a better platform to represent the wishes of my people is the reason for this decision,” she stated in her letter.

She further expressed confidence that APGA would offer her a stronger platform to serve her constituency effectively.
