Wike, in a goodwill message marking the conclusion of the Ramadan fasting period, offered warm greetings to both the Muslim faithful and all residents of the nation’s capital.

He stressed the significance of maintaining the virtues of self-discipline, charity, and devotion beyond the holy month.

“Ramadan is a period of deep spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and an opportunity to draw closer to Almighty Allah.

“I pray that He, in His infinite mercy, accepts all our acts of worship, supplications, and sacrifices during this blessed month and rewards us abundantly,” Wike said.

While acknowledging Abuja’s role as the heart of Nigeria’s unity, the minister encouraged citizens to promote peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and interfaith harmony.

He stressed that the nation’s religious and ethnic diversity should serve as a source of strength, rather than division.

“The FCT is the centre of unity of our great nation, and it is our collective responsibility to uphold and exhibit that unity at all times.

“Let us live in peace and harmony, respecting one another irrespective of religious or ethnic differences, and working together for the common good,” he added.

The minister reiterated his administration’s commitment to the safety and welfare of all residents, assuring that the FCT Administration (FCTA) would persist in enacting policies and initiatives aimed at enhancing infrastructure and quality of life.

“As residents of the nation’s capital, we must all take responsibility for ensuring peace and stability in our communities. I call on you to resist any attempt by individuals or groups seeking to create disharmony or disrupt the peace we cherish,” he said.

He further urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate security agencies, emphasising that security is a collective responsibility.

Wike also called on FCT residents to pray for President Bola Tinubu and other leaders in their quest to build a prosperous and united Nigeria.

“The task of building a Territory that reflects our collective dreams, one of peace, prosperity, and unity, is immense. We need your support, faith, and most importantly, your prayers for divine wisdom and guidance in this endeavor,” he urged.
