Nollywood Actress Ezeonu Bags IAWPA Eminent Peace Award

Renowned Nollywood actress Ngozi Ezeonu yesterday bagged the prestigious Eminent Peace Ambassador award from the International Association of World Peace Advocates IAWPA in a ceremony at Assba the capital of Delta State, Nigeria.

The ceremony which witnessed some other Nollywood stars was given to the actress in recognition of her contributions to peace and humanity in the country.

Speaking at the event, the Female Coordinator of the association Amb. Mummy Zeal from Anambra State who represented the Country Director of the association in Nigeria said the association after a careful analysis of the contributions of the actress in private and her role decided to give her the award to celebrate and also encourage her peace efforts.

He said more entertainers will be recognised because they are pivotal to the association’s quest to pursue enduring global peace especially in Nigeria leading to the forthcoming general elections.

The International Association of World Peace Advocates IAWPA is a leading name in the pursuit of Global Peace especially in Africa which has suffered ethnic, religious and political tensions. It has its United Nations ECOSOC Consultative status since 2019 and is a participant of the United Nations Global Compact.

 

Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke who presented the award to Ngozi Ezeonu said is a well deserved honour since a person of her type is been identified to promote world Peace as to support the UN to achieve its sustainable development goals. He said “on behalf of the International desk of our association, we wish to congratulate her even as we look forward to her playing a prominent role in our forthcoming programme in Bayelsa State on 16th November 2022 where we will celebrate the international Tolerance Day which will bring together various political actors aimed at reducing tension, hate speeches and all factors that will bring about violence before, during and after the general elections next year”.

 

In her response Amb. Ngozi Ezeonu dedicated the award to God almighty and to all her fans within and outside Nigeria promising to work with her award to promote peace in Nigeria and to support the United Nations in assisting the less privillaged persons, widows and the orphans.
