The Idoma Area Traditional Council, and the entire Idoma community have described Governor Hyacinth Alia as a beacon of development and hope for the people of Benue State.

Mayor of Otukpo, Chief Aloga Ogbogo, in a statement on behalf of the Och’Idoma, His Royal Majesty, John  Odogbo,  commended the governor for his decisive steps in restoring water supply to Otukpo town and its environs.

He hailed the recent approval for immediate payment of the outstanding contract sum to CGC, the Chinese company that constructed the Otobi/Otukpo and Katsina-Ala Water Works as authorised by the Benue State Executive Council under the leadership of Governor Alia.

The Idoma traditional council also acknowledged the significant achievements the governor has so far recorded in less than two years in office, saying his developmental strides will speak for him.

“We want to call on residents to safeguard all water installations in the areas to prevent vandalism or any actions that could disrupt the supply of water.”

The mayor also urged CGC and the stakeholders to conduct public sensitisation on the rehabilitation process and ensure proper reticulation of pipelines across Otukpo town for efficient water distribution.
