The deputy chairman of Yobe State Council of Chiefs and emir of Bade, Alhaji Abubakar Umar Suleiman, has urged the Muslim faithful to uphold dedication in worshipping Almighty Allah beyond Ramadan.
He called for collaboration to end herders/farmers’ clashes across the north in particular and Nigeria in general.
The emir disclosed this in a Sallah Message on Monday evening while receiving district and village heads, community leaders as well as politicians and other visitors in Gashua, Bade local government area of the state.
“I want to use this opportunity to inform you that, there can be no meaningful development without peace, and it is our duty to work tirelessly to ensure lasting peace in our state, Nigeria at large,” said the emir.
He said this can only be achieved by recognising the importance of peace in every society.
He added that, “We must remind ourselves that every farmer is a herder, and every herder is a farmer, we should put heads together to achieve our goal.”
He also congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of the 2025 Ramadan fast and the Eid-el-fitr celebration.
Suleiman lamented that, ” We cannot allow conflicts between herders and farmers to destroyed our nation. We must work together as a family to avoid anything that will destroy our future ambition.”
The monarch called on the herders and farmers to avoid anything that could trigger conflict or misunderstanding between them in the state or Nigeria at large.
