As part of measures to cushion biting economic effects in the country, the Adeleke dynasty, Ede on Thursday distributed 220 bags of rice to residents of Olorunda local government area in continuation of its state-wide distribution of the essential commodity to the people of Osun State.

It was gathered that the committee chaired by the Afrobeat star, David Adeleke, popularly called Davido distributed the 220 bags of rice to the people of the council as part of the Adeleke dynasty of Ede’s commitment to the welfare of the people.

The distribution that was coordinated by Nigerian hip-hop artist on Thursday is expected to extend to other local government areas of Osun.

Davido, represented by Hon. Tunji Akanni, told newsmen during the distribution of the food that the gesture from the Adeleke dynasty has nothing to do with politics.

He warned political officeholders against politicizing the philanthropic move by his family adding that alleviation of poverty had been part of what Adeleke dynasty is known for.

The beneficiaries are representatives of CSOs, the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, people with disabilities, the Igbo community, and the Hausa community.
