Nasarawa United have been charged for breaching the NPFL Framework and Rules during their Matchday 18 fixture against Rivers United on December 22, 2024.

According to the NPFL, Nasarawa breached NPFL 2025 rules following encroachment onto the field of play in the course of the match.

It was also established that Nasarawa failed to ensure proper conduct of their team and supporters which led to the assault on the away team.

The club’s supporters also assaulted centre referee Musibaudeen Ibrahim.

Consequently, the NPFL ruled that Nasarawa will pay a fine of N3 million, being N1 million each for encroachment on to the pitch, failure to ensure proper conduct of their team and supporters and failure to provide adequate and effective security.

The NPFL also ruled that three points and three goals shall be deducted from Nasarawa’s accrued points and goals for the assault on the centre referee.

The Lafia-based team have also been ordered to identify and prosecute the individual(s) involved in assaulting the away team with details of their progress submitted to NPFL within seven working days of this notice.
