The National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, has affirmed that security in Katsina State has significantly improved, citing recent developments as proof of progress in the fight against insecurity.
Speaking during a condolence visit to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda over the death of his mother, Hajiya Safara’u Umaru Barebari, Ribadu told journalists that the current situation in the state is markedly better than in previous months.

“We’ve seen improvement in the security situation in Katsina State,” Ribadu declared.

“Everyone can testify that things are now getting better. God willing, we are reaching a point where people will fully return to peaceful living and normalcy.”

While noting that complete peace may take time, Ribadu applauded Governor Radda’s leadership and the collective efforts of local security agencies to restore calm across the state.

He emphasised that the progress made so far has not gone unnoticed by the federal government.

“No one can say peace has completely returned because the situation took time to escalate. But we are on the right path, and the achievements recorded so far are commendable,” he stated.

The NSA also reiterated the federal government’s commitment to supporting ongoing efforts in Katsina and praised the state’s approach to intelligence-led security interventions.

Ribadu’s visit came after Governor Radda’s mother passed, during which he also offered heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Federal Government and the National Security Council.
Delivering a vote of thanks, Deputy Governor Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe expressed appreciation for the NSA’s visit and kind words.

“Let this moment reaffirm our shared commitment to peace, security, and progress,” he said.
Ribadu was accompanied by high-level dignitaries, including the Senate Committee on Security Chairman, Senator Shehu Umar Buba, Retired General Sarkin Yaki Bello, and other senior officials.
