The commissioner explained that the outreach provided vital support to the community, including free eye treatments, complementary eyeglasses, eye care consultations, and free registration for cataract surgeries.

The initiative, which took place yesterday at the Alkaleri Local Government Secretariat, targeted 500 children and less privileged individuals in the Alkaleri community.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, the commissioner represented by Abubakar Musa Madaki, personal assistant to the state governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, stated that the outreach is an extension of a similar programme previously conducted in the Duguri and Gwana districts of Alkaleri local government area.
