Olubadan Warns Newly Installed Chiefs Against Intimidation Of Subjects

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has warned family heads (Mogajis) and Baales across Ibadanland against using their positions to oppress or intimidate their family members or subjects.
The traditional ruler who made the declaration during the installation of nine Mogajis and Baales held at the Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo in Ibadan North Local Government Area, spoke through the Ekaarun Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief (Senator) Sharafadeen Alli.

He used the opportunity to warn traditional titleholders in the ancient city against using their positions to oppress or intimidate their subjects.

Those who were installed as Mogajis were Mr. Giwa Adeboye Kamaldeen from Aliiwo Compound in Ibadan North East Local Government; Alhaji Kamorudeen Olalekan Adebimpe of Adebimpe family, Odinjo in Ibadan South East; Alhaji Muritala Iyanda Aloba of Aloba family, Inalende in Ibadan North; Engr. Kazeem Rabiu of Akinsumbo Compound, Oke-Balogun Opooyeosa, in Ibadan North West; and Alhaji Kadir Yusuf Farayola of the Samonda family, Ile Samonda, Oje, in Ibadan North East.

Others were Mr Olukayode David Oduntan Awise of Oduntan Awise Compound, Oke-Offa in Ibadan North East; Alhaji Abideen Mustapha of Eleko family, Kososi Street, Idi Arere in Ibadan South West; Mr Yinusa Taiwo Ibilade Apapa of Apapa Compound, Labiran in Ibadan North East; and Alhaji Sholagbade Nureni Oladejo Arapaja of Arapaja family, Kudeti in Ibadan South West.

The two Baales installed were Chief Raimi Ibrahim Edujobi from Edujobi village in Egbeda Local Government and Mr Morakinyo Muniru Fagbemi of Fagbemi village in Akinyele Local Government.

The traditional ruler noted that the newly installed titleholders were his representatives.

He added that they are expected to use their positions to maintain peace and tranquillity in their respective domains.

He urged them to desist from actions that could tarnish the image of the traditional institution in the ancient city.
