A young lady, Joy Ikoja, has been ordered to be remanded in the correctional facility by a Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ado Ekiti for allegedly inflicting wounds on the manhood of his boyfriend, Ibrahim Usman.

The 20-year-old woman was brought before the court by the police in Ekiti State for unlawfully tearing Usman’s scrotal sack.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Adeboye Adesegun, told the court that the defendant committed the offence around 8 p.m. on April 12th in the Irona area of Ado Ekiti.

Adegun said, “The defendant, on the same date, time, and place, conducted herself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace in society.

“The offence committed is punishable under sections 186, 255 256(a) and 181(d) of Criminal Laws of Ekiti State of Nigeria 2021″.

He urged the court not to grant bail to the defendant’s bail, saying she might likely jump bail.

The defendant’s counsel, David Ogbede, urged the court to admit his client to bail, saying she would not jump bail as she was presumed innocent under the law.
