Kano Commences JAMB Exams Training For Students

Kano State government has commenced free Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exams training for about 10,000 indigenous students registered for the 2025 examination across the 44 local government areas of the state.

The commissioner for education, Dr Ali Haruna Makoda, launched the training programme at Murtala Muhammad Library Computer Centre and disclosed that it was part of the governmentā€˜s effort to assist students in the state in obtaining admission into tertiary institutions.

According to him, most of the over 5,000 students who sat for the exams in 2024 have secured admission into various institutions in and outside the state.

He noted that the students undergoing the training would be served food and a stipend of N1000 each as transport money from the beginning to the end of the training programme, which will last until 19 April 2025.

While expressing satisfaction with the ongoing training, Dr Makoda assured the students of the government’s continued support in providing access to quality education, urging them to pay attention to what they will be taught and perform excellently during the examination.

Earlier, the director of Kano Educational Resource Department (KERD), Hajiya Rabi Inuwa Hussain, explained that the training programme is organised at 21 centres in the state.

She thanked the state governor for his support, which, according to her, had significantly improved their working conditions.

In a similar development, the state government has procured and distributed 120,000 cartons of chalk to public schools across the state for effective learning and teaching.

Launching the distribution exercise on Wednesday at the State Universal Basic Education Board premises, the education commissioner, Dr Makoda, said the provision of the items was in line with the present administration’s commitment to improving teaching and learning in public schools to achieve quality education.
