Flutterwave, Africa’s leading payments technology company, has unveiled the Accelerate Workshop, a two-day virtual training programme aimed at bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world tech careers for young Africans.

Africa is home to the world’s youngest population, yet many face limited access to the tools and mentorship needed to thrive in tech. Flutterwave is addressing this gap by investing directly in talent development. The Accelerate Workshop, slated for April 26 and May 3, is designed to empower aspiring tech professionals with both the technical and soft skills necessary to compete on a global stage.

The workshop targets university students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals, providing direct access to industry expertise in four high-demand career paths: Data privacy and Cybersecurity, Design, Marketing, and Product Management.

Sessions will be led by accomplished tech professionals from within and beyond Flutterwave, including CEO of Mira and former VP of Design & Product at Flutterwave, Ted Oladele; senior manager of Branding and Storytelling, Noel Ozoemena; Head of Infrastructure Security, Nujinim Egwegbete-Odukwu; Data Privacy Manager, Abisola Epoyun, and Product Manager at Flutterwave, Oluwatobiloba Animashaun.

AVP, Branding & Storytelling at Flutterwave, Yewande Akomolafe-Kalu, in a press statement, said Flutterwave is passionate about unlocking Africa’s full potential by investing in the next generation of innovators and builders.

“The Accelerate Workshop serves as both a knowledge hub and springboard for ambitious young Africans poised to transform the continent’s technological landscape. We’re giving them the tools, access, and confidence to step boldly into the digital economy. This is about more than skills.

It’s about creating a pipeline of confident, capable African talent that will drive the continent’s innovation economy for decades to come,” Akomolafe-Kalu added.

Flutterwave’s move underscores a larger trend: tech companies stepping into education and workforce development as a long-term investment in sustainable growth. The company, known for revolutionising digital payments across Africa, now seeks to accelerate human capital development to match its technological advancements.

Registration for the free virtual workshop is open now, with limited slots available at Flutterwave website.

By equipping young Africans with critical skills and industry access, Flutterwave is not just shaping careers—it’s helping shape the future of tech in Africa.
