As Christians celebrate Easter Sunday yesterday peaceful in Niger State, the state governor Mohammed Umaru Bago and Senator Peter Ndalikali Jiya have urged Christians to reflect on the symbolism of the celebration.
The governor in a message by the chief press secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, observed that Easter was one of the most important celebrations in Christianity as it is the foundation of the Christian faith.
Bago reminded Christians on the need to reflect deeply and continue to hold firmly what Easter symbolises to them and ensure they impact positively on the society.
He also urged the people to take advantage of the season to reinforce their prayers for peace and tranquility in Niger State in particular and Nigeria in general.
Similarly the senator representing Niger South senatorial district, Senator Peter Ndalikali Jiya noted that the season embodies the promise of eternal life, spiritual renewal, and God’s love.
While praying that the miracle of Easter would inspire the people to strive for peace, unity, and progress in their communities, he reiterated the importance of love, compassion, and selflessness, as exemplified by Jesus’ sacrifice.
He reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Niger South with dedication and passion, working towards peace, progress, and development.
