There is disquiet in Ogun State as men of the state’s police command arrest two suspected internet fraudsters popularly called “yahoo – yahoo” boys for killing a 40-year-old man identified as Abdulahi Azeez for money making rituals in the state.

It was gathered that men of the Ogun State Police Command immediately arrested the suspects; 21- years old Friday Abinya Odeh and his 20-year-old accomplice, Poso Idowu, almost four months after they had kidnapped their victim at Kobape axis, along the Abeokuta-Sagamu expressway of Obafemi-Owode local government area of the state.

The command’s public relations officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who disclosed this to reporters yesterday in Abeokuta, the state capital said the two “Yahoo-Yahoo” boys forcefully took Abdulahi to the bush around 7: 30p.m. on the 8th of June, 2022 to a nearby bush in the area, killed him and dismembered his corpse for the ritual purpose.

Following the disappearance of the victim from house, his relatives on the following day reported the matter to the police at the Owode Egba Division, consequent upon which the state’s commissioner of police, Lanre Bankole, directed the Anti- Kidnapping Unit (AKU) of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) to unravel the mystery behind his sudden disappearance.

“In compliance with the CP’s directive, the SP Taiwo Opadiran-led team subsequently embarked on a technical and intelligence based investigation which led them to the hideout of Friday Abinya Odeh on the 22nd of September 2022, where the Airtel Sim card of the victim was recovered. His arrest led to the apprehension of his accomplice Poso Idowu.

“They confessed further that it was one herbalist simply identified as Arab money, who they claimed to have contacted on Facebook that prescribed the ritual for them.”
