Troops Arrest Suspected Kidnapper

Troops of Joint Task Force (JTF) in Tundun Wada have arrested a 55-year-old suspected notorious kidnapper (name withheld), during a security operation in Sumana Village, located within Tundun Wada local government area of Kano State.

The arrest which took place on April 20, was confirmed in a statement on Tuesday by Capt. Babatunde Zubairu, assistant director, Army Public Relations for 3 Brigade in Kano.

Following his arrest, the suspect was paraded before the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Ahmed Tukur, who was visiting troops at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Falgore in Doguwa LGA to celebrate the Easter holidays.

General Tukur commended the troops for their courage and professionalism during the operation, which led to the recovery of a significant cache of arms, ammunition, and other incriminating items.

Items seized from the suspect include one fabricated AK-47 rifle, a dane gun, 9 rounds of 9mm pistol ammunition, and a woodland camouflage uniform.

Additionally, a desert camouflage vest, a woodland camouflage vest, and a Bajaj motorcycle seat which was suspected to have been used to conceal the weapons were also recovered.

General Tukur reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to working with local authorities to ensure the restoration of peace and security in affected communities.
