QNET, a global direct selling company specialising in wellness and lifestyle products, has issued a strong warning to the Nigerian public to beware of fake individuals and entities fraudulently claiming affiliation with its brand.

The caution comes in the wake of recent arrests in Niger State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, where suspects were caught deceiving Nigerians under the guise of representing QNET.

In a statement, QNET disassociated itself from any unlawful activities linked to the impostors and reiterated that it operates in Nigeria solely through its authorised partner, Transblue Nigeria Limited.

The company expressed deep concern over the ongoing misuse of its name by unauthorized groups, some of whom promise employment, scholarships, or financial returns in exchange for money, practices that QNET firmly condemns.

QNET’s regional general manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, Biram Fall, described the activities of these fraudulent actors as disturbing and misleading, while emphasizing that QNET is built on values of honesty and empowerment through legitimate entrepreneurship, not empty promises or deceptive recruitment schemes.

According to Fall, the individuals responsible for these scams are not employees or representatives of QNET and have no official ties to the company.

QNET clarified that it does not operate any educational institutions or offer online medical courses in Nigeria, countering claims made by some of these rogue agents. It also dismissed any association with a so-called “Q-University,” which has no connection to the company. The only academic institution QNET is linked with is Quest International University in Malaysia, which does not have a campus in Nigeria.

Since its entry into the Nigerian market in 2022, QNET has taken steps to protect its brand and educate the public. In 2023, it launched the “Say NO!” campaign in collaboration with Transblue Nigeria Limited, aimed at raising awareness about scams and promoting ethical entrepreneurship. The campaign has reached thousands through billboards, radio jingles, pamphlets, and online platforms, with support from the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment and the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency.

QNET commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for its swift response in arresting individuals misusing its name and pledged continued cooperation with law enforcement agencies. The company urged Nigerians to remain vigilant, verify any QNET-related claims through official channels, and report suspicious activity.

By warning the public and reaffirming its commitment to ethical business practices, QNET says it hopes to protect more Nigerians from falling victim to exploitation.
