The candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in the November 2025 Anambra State governorship election, Paul Chukwuma, has stated that his administration would restore the glory and shining light of the state if he is elected governor.

He stated this when he unveiled his running-mate, Chief Uzu Okagbue, who was deputy chief of staff/chief of protocol to the immediate past governor of the state, Chief Willie Obiano at the state headquarters of the YPP in Awka on Friday.

While the YPP governorship flag-bearer hails Umueri in Anambra East local government area in the Anambra North Senatorial zone, his running-mate, Okagbue hails from Umunnachi in Dunukofia local government area in the Central Senatorial zone.

Sir Chukwuma stated that the choice of Okagbue was arrived at after fervent prayers and consultations with various stakeholders, including some political leaders across the state and YPP leaders at various levels in the state.

He added that the aim was to make sure that a person who have passion for the state’s development; who is patriotic and who believes in his vision and eager to restore the glory of the state was chosen to work with him.

“I’m excited to present a refined gentleman whom I had had the opportunity of working with; he is a patriotic Anambra citizen and he shares my vision for the restoration of the glory and shining light of Anambra State,” Chukwuma stated.

He noted that he found in Okagbue someone he and Anambra people could trust, adding that his running-mate already has an impressive record of having impacted many lives, especially when he was in government.
