The first batch of intending Muslim pilgrims in Kwara State will be airlifted on May 12, 2025.
The executive secretary of the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alh AbdulSalam AbdulKadir, disclosed this yesterday during an enlightenment programme organised for the intending pilgrims in Ilorin, the state capital.
AbdulKadir disclosed that vaccination for the intending pilgrims from the state will commence on Monday, followed by the distribution of uniforms on Wednesday, and travelling bags on Friday.
He said Kwara will have four scheduled flights, each comprising 550 pilgrims and 2,174 intending pilgrims from the state.

“The take off date for the four scheduled flights would be 12th May for the first batch of the intending pilgrims, second batch will be on the 14th, third batch will be taking their turn on the 16th, while the last batch are expected to leave for Saudi Arabia on the 17th of May, 2025,” he said.

The chairman of the Board, Professor Mashood Mahmud-Jimba, advised intending pilgrims to refrain from abusive words before, during, and after their stay on the plane of Arafat to have a rewarding pilgrimage.

In his lecture, the Grand Khadi of the Shariah Court of Appeal in the state, Justice AbdulLateef Kamaldeen, advised the intending pilgrims to perform their pilgrimage with the utmost fear of Allah.
