President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja for Katsina State on Friday for a two-day official visit.

According to a statement by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, during the visit on Thursday, the president will meet with key stakeholders to assess the security situation in the state.

“He will commission the Katsina Agricultural Mechanised Centre and a 24 km dual carriageway, completed by Governor Dikko Umar Radda. “

“President Tinubu will also honour an invitation to attend the wedding of the governor’s daughter before returning to Abuja,” he added.

Meanwhile, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has declared  Friday a work-free day in Katsina State in honour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visit.

The announcement was made during the May Day celebration in Katsina, where the governor addressed workers across the state.

Governor Radda emphasised that the decision to suspend official activities allows citizens to welcome the President and show appreciation for his visit to the state.

During his speech, the governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and developing a productive workforce.

“We are working tirelessly to improve the working conditions of our civil servants, and this is evident in the full implementation of the minimum wage, prompt payment of gratuities, and the settlement of pensions,” he stated.

Governor Radda praised workers for their dedication to building the state and the nation, describing the labour force as the “backbone of national development” and “agents of change.”

“We must work together, workers and policymakers alike, to build a better Katsina. Let us serve all citizens equally and responsibly,” he urged.

The May Day event was enthusiastic, as labour unions and workers gathered to celebrate their achievements and renew their commitment to nation-building. The governor’s gesture was met with applause and appreciation from attendees.
