Indication has emerged that work will soon resume at the Moshood Abiola International Airport located in Ido Osun, Osun State.
The chairman, Olojudo Coronation Central Planning Committee, Hon Sanya Okunade, disclosed this at a press conference where he unveiled the activities for the coronation of Oba Olayinka Oyetunde Jokotola, the 47th Olojudo of Ido Osun.
Okunade who expressed optimism at the take-off of work said nothing would stop work from taking off afresh on the project following the timely intervention of the federal government on Osun State government’s plan to relocate the airport.
On the coronation, Okunade disclosed that the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, the Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun and other dignitaries would grace the grand finale of the 4-day programme on Saturday, May 24, 2025.
He said the coronation is more than a celebration stressing that it is a revival of tradition, a renewal of hope and a testament of cultural pride. He added that honourary chieftaincy titles would be conferred on distinguished personalities during the ceremonies.
Hon Okunade said security measures have been put in place to ensure a hitch-free coronation ceremony at the three major segments of the event which include pre-coronation activities, coronation day ceremonies and post-coronation events.
He called on sons, daughters, friends and well-wishers of Ido Osun to participate fully as the community ushers in a reign rooted in peace, unity and prosperity.
