A student of Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo in Ogun State, Oladipupo Siwajuola, who was previously declared missing by her mother has been found.

Oladipupo’s distraught mother, Fijabi Oyindamola Omotayo who took to the social media to announce the disappearance of her son, confirmed finding her son through her Facebook page on Sunday.

“My son has been found,” Omotayo wrote without explaining the circumstances leading to finding the missing undergraduate student.

Omotayo had few days ago cried out over mysterious disappearance of Oladipupo from the university campus, expressing deep concern while she called on the public for support to find her son.

The mother, while making efforts to locate her son accused the school management of shielding two students – Lampard and Tobi, who were said to be the last people to see Oladipupo before his disappearance.

“Can you explain why Lampard and Tobi, who were the last to see him, are being shielded? Why haven’t they been questioned thoroughly? Why are they being protected?” she had asked.

She narrated that she personally dropped the Mass Communication student off at school on Monday, April 27, adding that “The last time I spoke with my son was on Wednesday. Since then, I haven’t been able to reach or locate him. Babcock should look for my son.”

Oyindamola pleaded, “Please find my son for me. I have nothing in this world except him. Don’t let all my labour go in vain. I am helpless. I can’t sleep, I can’t eat. My son is not a wayward person. He doesn’t stay out late or disappear without telling me. Look for my son.”

She also claimed that the management of the institution were unconcerned in their response about the whereabouts of her missing son.

“They told me he might still be within the school premises, that students sometimes roam about like that. But I asked them — what could you have done to my son that would make him run away?” she said.

Oyindamola explained that her son recently returned home briefly to prepare for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in preparation to changing his course from Mass Communication to Property Law.

She explained that Oladipupo needed to the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) examination to restart from 100 level.

“When he came home on Wednesday evening, I noticed he wasn’t his usual self. I asked him about his phone because his father had just bought him an iPhone 11 Pro Max. He said he forgot it at school with Lampard. When he called Lampard, the boy confirmed he had the phone. That made me feel reassured.”

However, she noted that Oladipupo had been unhappy for a while.

“He has been complaining since his first semester about his roommates and had been requesting to change rooms. I don’t know if the school ever acted on that,” she said.
