President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised Barrister Adebayo Somefun, the former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), for his exemplary leadership and transformative contributions during his tenure.

A letter of commendation dated April 2025, signed by the current NSITF Managing Director, Oluwaseun Faleye, highlighted Somefun’s dedication, innovation, and strategic stewardship in repositioning the agency to better fulfil its statutory obligations.

Under his leadership, the NSITF resolved longstanding issues, including clearing salary arrears, addressing promotion backlogs, and providing essential work tools to enhance employee morale and productivity.

Somefun’s administration also fostered inter-governmental collaboration, notably with the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), to implement transparent procurement guidelines.

This partnership ensured compliance with the Public Procurement Act 2007, making the Employees’ Compensation Scheme (ECS) Compliance Certificate mandatory for contract bidding across government agencies.

His leadership cultivated a motivated workforce with minimal staff turnover and a culture of excellence.

“Your commitment to excellence and teamwork was inspiring, and your contributions are truly valued,” the letter stated, noting the significant impact of Somefun’s achievements on the Fund’s operations and employee welfare.
