The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Abubakar Inuwa Kari, has hailed Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s leadership style, describing him as a pragmatic and visionary leader who is steering Gombe toward becoming the agro-industrial hub of northern Nigeria.

In an exclusive interview, Kari said the Governor’s administration is marked by strategic planning, fiscal prudence, and a commitment to legacy projects.

He noted that despite economic challenges facing the country, Governor Inuwa Yahaya has maintained a clear development trajectory for Gombe, anchored on long-term sustainability rather than populism.
According to the Chief of Staff, Gombe’s transformation began with a comprehensive needs assessment that shaped the government’s priorities.

“From day one, Governor Inuwa Yahaya made it clear he was not here to share money but to work. That mindset has guided all his actions,” he said.

He emphasized that the state’s workers have never missed their salaries since 2019, with payments consistently made before the 25th of each month.

On the issue of outstanding gratuities, Kari disclosed that over N17 billion was inherited, but the government has committed to clearing the backlog entirely before 2027.

He also spoke on the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park in Dadin-Kowa, describing it as a flagship initiative that will catalyze Gombe’s economic growth.

With its proximity to the Dadin-Kowa Hydropower Plant, the park is set to attract agro-processing and light manufacturing firms, create jobs, and expand the state’s revenue base.
“Industrialization is the future, and Gombe is ready to lead,” he said.
Addressing the issue of local government autonomy, Kari explained that the state already allows significant financial independence to the 11 LGAs, with their allocations going directly to them.

He highlighted the Joint Project Development Agency as a platform for coordinated development efforts between the state and LGAs, further strengthened by a recent fiscal transparency summit hosted by the state.

Looking ahead, Kari stated that Governor Inuwa Yahaya is determined to complete and commission all key projects within the next two years, particularly the Three-Arms Zone, which will house the State Assembly complex, a new Government Secretariat, and a modern Judiciary headquarters.

Describing the governor’s leadership style, he said Inuwa Yahaya is a disciplined, honest, and results-oriented leader who knows every community in the state and leads with empathy and foresight.
