Troops Arrest Suspected Gunrunners In Plateau

Troops of 3 Division/Operation Safe Haven have arrested a notorious gunrunners and suspected kidnappers identified as Saeedu Haruna at Marit Mazat and Mr Yahaya Adamu at Barakin Gangare areas of Barkin Ladi local government area of Plateau State

The troops also recovered one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine and one Itel mobile phone from the suspect during the operations.

A statement by the Media Officer, Operation Save Haven (OPSH), Major Samson Zhakom said the troops,
supported by an intelligence agency conducted an intelligence-based operation in the early hours of 11 May, 2025 resulting to the arrest of Adamu.

Zhakom said preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects and their syndicate were responsible for most of the criminal activities along Gashish and Kurra Falls and also in Gwantu and Fadan Karshe in Sanga LGA of Kaduna State.

He added that the suspects were making useful confessions in custody, while efforts were ongoing by troops to track and arrest other members of the syndicate and recover their weapons.

Operation Safe Haven also lauded the cooperation of the public in ensuring that criminal hideouts were exposed to security agencies.

It further charged the public to always give credible information to troops as they strive to hunt down non-state actors, while also protecting lives and property within the joint operations area.
