Tinubu Swears In New INEC Commissioners, CCB Board Members

President Bola Tinubu has sworn in newly appointed Commissioners of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The commissioners took their oath of office at the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting of Monday, May 12,2025, at the State House, Abuja.

The swearing in ceremony followed introductory remarks by the State House Director of Media and Publicity, Abiodun Oladunjoye.

The new INEC Commissioners include Mallam Tukur Abdulrazaq Yusuf who represents North-West and Professor Sunday Nwambam Aja, representing Ebonyi State on the Commission.

The President also swore in two (2) Commissioner members, Board of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

They are Ikpeme Kenneth Ndem, Cross River State State; and Hon. Justice Buba Ibrahim Nyaure (Rtd), Taraba State.

In attendance at the Monday FEC meeting were the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume and the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.

The Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; his Budget and Economic Planning counterpart, Atiku Bagudu, and Information and National Orientation Minister, Mohammed Idris were amongst other cabinet members in attendance.

It would be recalled that the last Federal Executive Council meeting held on 5th of May, approved a ‘Nigeria First’ economic policy targeted prioritising the use of locally manufactured goods and services in all government procurements.
