A total of 2,000 intending pilgrims have been airlifted from Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport Ambursa in Birnin Kebbi to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajji exercise.
The pilgrims were on the first, second, third and fourth flights.
Chairman of the Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA) in the state, Faruk Musa Enabo announced the development to newsmen at SABIA premises in Ambursa, outskirts of Birnin Kebbi metropolis in Kebbi State.
Enabo commended the PWA officials, security personnel, various committees and other stakeholders for the smooth operation of the exercise as scheduled.
He warned the intending pilgrims against anything that could tarnish the image of Kebbi and the country while in Madina and Makkah.
Some intending pilgrims who spoke to journalists expressed appreciation to PWA and other stakeholders for the smooth operation of the flights.
