there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Atuwatse III was on Tuesday conferred with the national honour of the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Reacting to this, the Olu of Warri, Atuwatse III, during the award’s celebration in Abuja yesterday, said there is hope for Nigeria, adding that the development lucidly presents the Itshekiri people in the limelight of recovery and progress in Nigeria.

He said, “It was very humbling, very humbling because without going into too much detail, as I said, this award is God’s doing and I see the signposts, I see what God is trying to show us.
“He is giving us divine speed. He is giving us the grace to recover; recover all that has been lost in terms of time, in terms of opportunity, in terms of resources, and by the grace of God, we will more than recover and I say this
totally surrendered and submitted to Him because as a human being saying that is actually scary.

“It is daunting. How do you want to sustain this momentum? And it is only God and he will give me the wherewithal, the grace, and the capacity to sustain
this thing that he started.”

He dedicated the award to the Itshekiri nation saying, “it’s actually not possible for me to just receive it for my person. Truly, this award is for the Itshekiri nation. As we declared publicly in August last year, I am only a vessel, and by the grace of God, he will use me as his vessel to make us all proud. He will use me as his vessel to elevate us to inspire us to encourage us.”

The immediate past president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Ahmadu Pinnick said the monarch merit the award.

He added that the monarch has relentlessly given hope to the hopeless, and given back to the society since he ascend the throne of his forebears.

Also, one of the subjects who graced the event to felicitate with the monarch, Kingsley Ayeokunbo, said: “the fact that he has acknowledged God as the source of everything that he is doing, is okay, and he can never go wrong.

“So, all I need to say is just to join our family to say we are proud of him for what he has achieved so far in such a short time. Like he said with this kind of speed only God can help him and sustain him.”

Similarly, the managing director of Globalinfoswift, Afolabi Oke, while congratulating the Olu of Warri, charged him to remain steadfast and diligent in service.

Drawing from the example of the young King and national awardee, he advised the Nigerian youths to follow their dreams and work hard.

“Follow your passion and work hard. Do not give up on your dream. I believe that the king in his heart, believed that one day he was going to have a game and God has made that possible for him. So follow your dream and never give up on your dream,” he said.
