Adamawa Airlifts 486 Intending Pilgrims To Saudi Arabia

A total of 486 intending pilgrims have been airlifted by the Adamawa State Government to participate in the 2025 Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The pilgrims departed Yola International airport Thursday night by 7:45pm on board UNZA airline.

Governor Umaru Fintiri who was represented at the departure by the Secretary to the State Government, Awwal Tukur, at the airport encouraged the pilgrims to offer prayers for lasting peace and progress for the state and Nigeria during the pilgrimage.

Permanent Secretary and Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission, Malam Abubakar Salihu, acknowledged the commitment of the Fintiri administration as a major factor behind the smooth commencement of the Hajj operations.

The Governor was accompanied by the Emir of Fufore, Alhaji Sani Ahmadu Ribadu, who also serves as the Amirul Hajj 2025, along with other prominent personalities.

In a related development, Malam Salihu has been praised for his diligent planning and thorough execution of the Hajj arrangements leading to the successful departure of the first batch of pilgrims.

Some of the pilgrims, speaking from the Prince Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, expressed satisfaction with the seamless travel process and minimal stress.

They also commended Governor Fintiri for providing quality accommodation at Mamma Chare Hotel in Yola, which served as their temporary Hajj camp before the journey.
