We Are Real Coalition For 2027 –ADC

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) said it has undertook bold step towards repositioning itself as a leading political force ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring itself the coalition party that will spearhead Nigeria’s democratic rebirth.

Delivering a keynote address at the conclusion of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja, chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT), Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed, who spoke on behalf of the party’s national chairman, Okey Ralphs Nwosu, expressed deep concern about Nigeria’s worsening economic and social conditions.

“We have watched over the years how things have gradually deteriorated to the extent that normal existence is becoming more and more difficult. Statistics have indicated that about five million Nigerians are added annually to the global poverty list. This is sad for a country that is richly endowed with enormous resources,” Ahmed said.

Ahmed emphasised that good governance—anchored on capable and committed leadership—is the only sustainable solution to the country’s challenges, reiterating ADC’s readiness to provide such leadership.

“ADC has, over the past 20 years, remained a formidable platform in the process of re-engineering Nigeria. Though we’ve not yet been at the driver’s seat, that is about to change,” he said.

Highlighting recent internal reforms, Ahmed disclosed that the party has undergone significant transformation to accommodate new members and strengthen its capacity.

“This final phase of opening up our party marks a historic turning point,” he added.

As part of its strategy, ADC is building a broad coalition that includes civil society and grassroots organisations—groups the party believes are critical in fostering participatory democracy.

“We believe that all politics is grassroots politics. That is why our civil society and grassroots partners have been deeply involved in this journey. Their resilience has assured us that our vision is achievable,” Ahmed stated.

Declaring ADC the “coalition party in Nigeria,” he said the party is now open to all well-meaning Nigerians who desire democratic change and national transformation.

“We invite every Nigerian who loves this country to join our party—the African Democratic Coalition.”

Ahmed concluded with a call to unity and patriotism, reaffirming the party’s commitment to national development and peaceful coexistence.

“As we look ahead to 2027, we must walk together toward a new beginning for our country. The ADC remains committed to building a Nigeria where every citizen can thrive in peace and dignity.”

The event was attended by key members of the ADC National Working Committee, grassroots mobilizers, and civil society leaders.
