Leaders from the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) under the aegis of Northern Bridge Builders Forum have endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027 to continue the good works he is doing for the country.

The northern leaders said their decision was sequel to the stellar performance of President Tinubu in the last two years as evident in the improvement of security, economic revitalisation, implementation of the local government autonomy and restoration of peace and national unity.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, the convener of Northern Bridge Builders Forum, Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya, acknowledged Tinubu’s priority to the safety and security of all Nigerians, particularly the people of the North who had been at the centre of the heat occasioned by rampaging activities of bandits, insurgents, terrorists and other criminal groups.

Ikenya however, drew the president’s attention to the resurgence of the activities of the criminal groups with deadly effect in recent times, saying the killings and destruction of properties in most northern states re-enforced the fear that Boko Haram Terrorists, ISWAP, Lakurawa and other related criminal groups have regrouped, re-armed and are mercilessly unleashing violence on communities in those states.

According to him, under the Tinubu administration, Nigeria is witnessing significant strides in economic revitalisation; local government autonomy is being implemented while peace, unity, tolerance and national cohesion are promoted.

“The forum urges Nigerians to be a little more patient, understanding and supportive of the policies and reforms being initiated and pursued by Mr President. We are confident that our generation, our children and generations of Nigerians yet unborn will benefit from these policies and reforms.

“The forum urges our fellow brothers and sisters in the Northern states and indeed all Nigerians to continue to be loyal, law abiding and supportive of the administration of Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“The forum calls on Nigerians to refuse to be persuaded by the activities of certain forces bent on disrupting the vision of Mr President for Nigeria for selfish reasons. We must all endeavour to key into this vision for posterity sake. Together we shall make Nigeria great again,” he stated.

The former lawmaker called on President Tinubu to consolidate and continue to improve the gains recorded in the area of security across the country and particularly in the northern states where the violent activities are more intense.

Ikenya urged the National Assembly to expedite the passage into law of the bill sent to it by the president for the establishment of Armed Forests Guards in Nigeria, saying its implementation will make the forests less habitable for criminals.

“The administration should provide farming inputs and equipments to our farmers early to enable them deploy same at the appropriate time of the farming year for improved food productivity. The administration should put in place economic measures that will provide immediate succor to the citizens of the North and Nigeria as a whole.

“In view of the aforesaid, the Northern Bridge Builders Forum hereby unequivocally endorses Mr President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR for a second term in 2027, to continue the good works he is doing,” he added.
