The Commissioner of Finance and Economic Development, Muhammad Gambo Magaji disclosed this while briefing news men after the State Executive Council Meeting presided over by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON.

Magaji explained that compensation payments to affected property owners have been completed.
He noted that the project is in line with Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s agenda for urban renewal and economic transformation, aiming to position Gombe as a commercial hub in Northeast Nigeria.

He stated that 181 hectares of land have been allocated for the project, with the compensation process conducted transparently and fairly.

However, Magaji assured that his committee remains open to addressing any complaints about the payments.

The Commissioner, who is also the chairman of the compensation committee, issued a seven-day notice for landowners to vacate land designated for the project.

“The landowners and beneficiaries are urged to vacate the designated area within seven days to allow construction to begin promptly. This critical infrastructure project will modernise livestock processing, boost agro-economic activities, and strengthen food supply chains across the state and beyond,” Magaji said.
