Lagos Leather Fair, a prestigious fair showcasing Nigeria’s rich leather craftsmanship is back for its ninth edition.
The fair which showcases leather works from best and upcoming Nigerian leather brands, whilst charting a path for the country’s leather practice, creativity and innovation for economic growth is set to hold June 28 to 29 at The Balmoral, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
This year the fair like most creative sectors will explore the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in leather design, navigating international and product pricing in its masterclasses and panel discusses, that will feature 18 industry experts guest speakers.
There will be Workshops for both leather makers and stakeholders to gain practical insights from experts in the industry, Runway Shows to view innovative craftsmanship of Nigeria’s talented leather designers, and the Lagos Leather Festival (LLF) Awards that celebrate trailblazers setting new standards in Africa.
Fledgling and established leather brands get to pitch their business ideas to prospective investors at The LeatherPreneur Challenge, the LLF Accelerator programme. And guests at the fair, get to witness the more innovative/hands-on aspect of the fair – The Maker’s Bench and A Leather Installation. The former allows participants at the fair to ply their hands learning the basics of leathercraft guided by professionals, and the latter is a dedicated space showcasing the magic and versatility of leather.
Prospective participants are encouraged to register prior to the opening, as seats are on a first come, first serve basis.
