Lawmaker Cautions MDAs On Revised Public Procurement Thresholds

The member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency and chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Public Procurement, Rep. Unyime Idem, has warned ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) against abuse of the revised public procurement thresholds just approved by President Bola Tinubu.

He also directed the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) to ensure proper monitoring of MDAs to avoid abuse of the new thresholds.

Idem gave the warning when the director general of BPP, Dr. Adebowale Adedokun, presented the revised thresholds to the House Committee on Public Procurement in Abuja.

The lawmaker further warned that the House of Representatives would not hesitate to sanction any MDA that abuses the new thresholds, or found to be in breach of any of the provisions of the Public Procurement Act.

The House of Representatives, through the committee also during the engagement, ratified the newly approved public
