FrieslandCampina WAMCO Appoints Sanni As New Chairman

FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc has appointed Yinka Sanni as its new chairman of the board of directors.

This transition follows the retirement of Moyo Ajekigbe, who has successfully led the board since 2010.

In a statement signed by the executive director of Corporate Affairs of the company, Ore Famurewa, said, “the company under Ajekigbe guidance experienced substantial growth and transformation, including the initiation of key dairy development initiatives. His innovative strategies have strengthened the company’s market position and laid a strong foundation for future success.”

The firm added that, “Sanni joins the Board with a wealth of experience amassed over 35 years in the financial services sector, having held numerous leadership roles, including his most recent position as Group executive at Standard Bank Group.

“He has also served as the chief executive officer of the Africa Region at Standard Bank Group and Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc. His extensive expertise spans retail and wholesale banking, asset management, and strategic visioning, all of which will contribute to the ongoing growth and innovation at FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria.”

In reflecting on his time as chairman, Ajekigbe expressed his appreciation to everyone who supported him throughout his journey, stating that, “leading FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria has been a remarkable honour. I am thankful to the Board of Directors, Management, and Staff for their collaboration, which has enabled us to fulfill our mission of providing quality dairy nutrition to Nigerians. I have full confidence that Sanni will elevate the company to new heights.”

 

Upon his appointment, Sanni remarked, “I commend Moyo Ajekigbe for his outstanding leadership. As I step into this role, I am eager to collaborate with the Board of Directors, Management, Employees, and shareholders to ensure we maintain our status as Nigeria’s leading dairy company.”
