This Award scheduled to take place on July 6, 2025, in Lagos, is aimed to recognize and celebrate the achievements of expatriates from various countries, inspiring them to further engage with and contribute to Nigerian society.

During the award announcement in Lagos, the director of Awards at the TEBA Foundation, Miss Odunola Abayomi, expressed that the project, sponsored by Pun Communications Limited, is designed to acknowledge the entrepreneurial spirit of successful foreign individuals, groups, corporate entities, and dedicated migrants who have made Nigeria their home.

Abayomi emphasised that the awardees have significantly impacted the country’s business landscape over the years, and these accolades serve as a tribute to Nigeria’s diverse business community.

She added that the foundation is currently conducting public opinion polls and thorough research while reviewing nominations from the public, ensuring that the integrity of the selection process remains paramount.

“In a distinct approach compared to traditional awards, the Expatriates Business Awards will specifically recognize foreigners who live and operate businesses in Nigeria. The awards encompass various categories, including Expatriate Man of the Year, Expatriate Entrepreneur of the Year, Expatriate Woman of the Year, and many others focused on different sectors such as aviation, telecommunications, food and beverage, and corporate social responsibility,” she stated.

Abayomi noted, “The Expatriates Business Awards, a fully trademarked initiative stands apart by honoring those who, though not indigenous to Nigeria, have chosen to invest in and nurture their enterprises here.

“Nigeria is a vibrant hub of opportunities, attracting individuals from various backgrounds who have taken bold steps to succeed and create jobs. It is essential that we take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate their contributions.”

Head of Marketing Communication at Aero Contractors and a key sponsor of the awards, Irene Samuel, added that the airline proudly supports the TEBA Foundation’s mission to recognize those who positively impact Nigeria’s growth.

She mentioned that this collaboration presents an opportunity to identify and appreciate expatriates who not only reside in Nigeria but also help create employment opportunities for local citizens.

Samuel further remarked, “When assessing the Nigerian economy, it is clear that expatriates significantly contribute to our GDP. We must ensure that their efforts do not go unnoticed and that we honour their vital role in our economic landscape.”
