Police Arrest Suspect Over Murder Of 22-yr-old Housewife In Kano

The Kano State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with the brutal murder of a 22-year-old housewife, Rumaisa Haruna.

According to a statement on Tuesday by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Haruna Kiyawa, the suspect, Shu’aibu Abdulkadir of Madatai Quarters in Kano, was apprehended on May 23, following weeks of investigation and intelligence-led operations.

LEADERSHIP reports that Rumaisa was found in her matrimonial home with fatal injuries to her neck on April 6, 2025, at Tsamiyar Duhuwa in the Farawa area of Kano.

Her husband, Ibrahim Mohammed, discovered her body and rushed her to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

“The suspect has confessed to the crime, admitting to trespassing into the victim’s matrimonial home, strangulating, and stabbing her with a knife on the neck, resulting in her death.
