AC Milan have confirmed the appointment of Massimiliano Allegri as the club’s manager for a second time.

The 57-year-old returns to the San Siro on a two-year deal, with an option of a third, replacing Sérgio Conceição, who quit the club after just 30 games in charge.

Allegri previously managed the club for three-and-a-half years from 2010 to 2014, in which time he won the 2010/11 Serie A title as well as a Super Cup.

After leaving the Rossoneri, Allegri had two stints in charge of Juventus, with whom he won five league and Coppa Italia crowns apiece.

He also managed the Old Lady to two Champions League finals.

Allegri’s six Serie As placed him second in the all-time list behind Giovanni Trapattoni (7), and Milan will be hoping he can restore the club to their former glory after a tough 2024/25 season.

While the Super Cup was claimed with victory over Inter, there was an eighth-placed Serie A finish and a Coppa Italia final loss to Bologna, which means the club will not plat at the European football next season.
