President Bola Tinubu has announced that the West Africa Economic Summit (WAES) 2025 would take place in Abuja from June 20 to 21, with a focus on unlocking trade and investment opportunities across the region.

Sharing the news via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, President Tinubu said the summit was part of his administration’s foreign policy vision to prioritise “our people, our prosperity, and our place in the world.”

“With WAES 2025, we take a bold step toward building a prosperous, integrated West Africa powered by trade, innovation, and our most valuable asset — our people,” he stated.

Themed “Unlocking Trade and Investment Opportunities in the Region,” the summit is expected to convene Heads of State, business leaders, global investors, development partners, youth innovators, and entrepreneurs to chart a path for sustainable growth and regional integration.
