Hit And Run Driver Kills Toddler In Enugu

A yet to be identified toddler was yesterday killed by a hit-and-run driver along Timber and Monarch road.

It was gathered that the toddler between the ages of two and three years died instantly as parts of his body were ripped open in the accident, which took place around 5 pm today(Sunday)

Eyewitnesses told LEADERSHIP that when the driver of the unidentified trailer noticed that the toddler had no chance of survival, he sped off to an unknown destination.

As of the time this report was filed, it was unclear if the boy was walking along the road with his father, who was suspected to be a scavenger.

When our correspondent went to the scene of the accident, his father was seen crying loudly but refused to utter a word to anybody. Passersby were also sighted at the accident scene discussing the unfortunate development, but refused to speak out due to fear. Sources said that before people could get close to the scene of the accidents, the yet-to-be-identified driver had already left.
