Eid-el-Kabir: Yobe Gov’t Shuts Schools For 10 Days

The Yobe State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has announced the closure of all public and private schools across the state for 10 days to enable the students celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir festival.

In a statement signed by the Director of Schools Management, Bukar Modu, on behalf of the Commissioner for Education in Damaturu, the Sallah break will commence from Wednesday, June 4, 2025 to Sunday, June 15, 2025.

The schools closure aligns with the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs’ declaration of Friday, June 7, 2025, as Eid-el-Kabir (Sallah) day and the observance of Democracy Day on Wednesday, June 12, 2025.

The ministry also directed all schools to remain closed during this period to allow students, teachers, and stakeholders to fully participate in the festivities.

Commissioner of Education in the state, Professor Adam Idris extended warm wishes to all for a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

He called on the parents to monitor the activities of their wards during and after the Sallah celebration and wished them the best.
