Yobe Closes Schools For Eid-El-Kabir Celebration

Yobe State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has announced a 10-day Sallah break for all public and private schools across the state.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the director of Schools Management, Bukar Modu, on behalf of the commissioner, which was made available to LEADERSHIP in Damaturu.

The statement said the break would run from Wednesday, June 4, 2025, to Sunday, June 15, 2025.
This aligns with the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs’ declaration of Friday, June 7, 2025, as Eid-el-Kabir (Sallah) Day and the observance of Democracy Day on Wednesday, June 12, 2025.

The ministry also directed all schools to remain closed during this period to allow students, teachers, and stakeholders to fully participate in the festivities.

The academic activities will resume on Monday, June 16, 2025. He said the commissioner, Professor Adam Idris, extends warm wishes to all for a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Ha called on the parents to monitor their wards’ activities during and after Eid-el-Kabir’s celebration.
