Southern Kaduna Peoples Alliance for Good Governance (SOKAPAGG) has vowed to resist any effort aimed at causing divisive politics in the region.
This is just as the group warned people, being used to cause disaffection between the senator representing Kaduna South, Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani to desist forthwith.
The group commended President Tinubu, Governor Sani and Senator Katung for facilitating the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia and the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Kafanchan.
Addressing a press conference in Kaduna yesterday, the convener, Comrade Edward John Auta and co-convener Comrade Ezekiel Shamaki said, “We are constrained at this point in time to address you and the dear people of Kaduna State over some worrying issues involving some divisive citizens in our midst under the auspices of the Southern Kaduna Youth Stakeholders Forum – an amorphous group led by one Seth Bakut.
“We are worried by the penchant for mischief and unnecessary heating up of the polity by these elements, especially the attempts to set our leaders against each other. We are particularly concerned by a recent press conference aimed at setting the senator representing our zone against the governor of Kaduna State, Sen. Uba Sani, as well as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, and the Federal Medical Centre, Kafanchan”.
The group condemned in totality such divisive tactics, especially that it was done in the name of their ever-conscious, peace-loving, and vibrant youths.
“We doubt if any bona fide youth from southern Kaduna would be jealous of the collaboration between Sen. Sunday Marshall Katung and the APC-led governments at all levels; a partnership that is central to the recent developments in our zone, reminiscent of the PDP years in power, let alone willingly offer themselves to be used as pawns in the hands of desperate politicians to thwart this progress, no matter the prize.
“We want to appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani, Sen. Sunday Katung, and our revered community and religious leaders not to take such unserious elements seriously but continue to close ranks to see to the full take-off of the two institutions recently established, as well as their continuous funding for the good of the region and the nation at large”.
The group also cautioned Mr. Seth Bakut and his co-travellers to refrain immediately from acts capable of soiling the positive image of the youths and the good relationships between the leaders. It also urged the leaders concerned to ignore the bad eggs among them and continue to work together for the benefit of the larger southern Kaduna community.
