All is set to present letters of appointment to the 2,722 appointees listed by the Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, 11 months ago.

The governor had, on July 15, 2024, issued letters of appointment to special advisers, advisers, senior special assistants, community advisers, and board chairmen.

In a statement on Monday by the Secretary to the Government of the State, SGS, Barrister Gebon T. Kataps, noted that the issuance of the letters  will commence on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.
The appointees, as noticed in the release sighted by LEADERSHIP, were directed  to report to the political department at the SGS office for collection of their appointment letters and to complete necessary documentation.

The statement further clarified the procedures for appointees who are currently serving civil servants.

“In line with Section 192(4) and Section 196(3) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), and in accordance with the Public Service Rules (PSR 030423), career civil servants appointed to statutory commissions or as special advisers are required to either withdraw, resign, or retire from service before their documentation and appointment letters can be finalized.

Additionally, “Civil servants appointed to other political offices must apply for a leave of absence through the Head of Civil Service, as stipulated in PSR 100236, if they intend to return to the civil service after their political tenure,” the statement read.
