Chairperson of the women wing of the Bauchi Unity Forum, Central Zone, a pro-APC cum Shehu Buba group, Fatima Nuhu, has urged President Bola Tinubu to timely address insecurity and economic hardship prevalent in the country to secure their votes for his re-election in 2027.

Speaking to our correspondent on Wednesday in Misau during a forum meeting, Fatima said President Tinubu stood a better chance of winning votes not only from APC women but also from across other political parties.

She argued that the president reviewed the national minimum wage, raised workers’ take-home pay, raised inflation, and created economic instability, all of which combined to depreciate people’s standards of living.

“President Tinubu has good intentions and a plan for the country, but some of his aides are not supporting his Renewed Hope Agenda to improve the economy of the country.

“We will continue to rally support for the president and Senator Shehu Nuna in Misau and Bauchi Central, but we want the President to address economic hardship and insecurity well ahead of the next general elections in the country,” Fatima emphasised.

She added, “It is important for the president to sit back and reflect on the successes and failures of his policies with a view to making adjustments. Some northern states grapple with insecurity, and lives are being lost. This problem should be addressed.”

Fatima expressed optimism that northern votes in 2027 will be for the president.

On her part, Ningi women leader, Central Unity Forum for Shehu Buba, Talatu Ningi, assured that she would woo votes for President Tinubu’s re-election, expressing satisfaction with the performance of the President.

She, however, urged the president to reduce the prices of food items so that poor Nigerians could eat healthy foods and avoid going to bed with empty bellies.

“We are happy that food prices are beginning to go down. We hope the president will sustain the tempo and poor households continue to have food on the table,” she said.

Also, Rashida Abubakar, the Women’s leader of Unity Forum in Darazo local government, vowed to raise money to buy Senator Shehu Nuna’s nomination and expression of interest forms to contest the Bauchi governorship seat in 2027.

She commended the lawmaker for giving women a voice and adequate representation. “Considering Senator Shehu Buba’s performance, we don’t feel the void of not being in control at the Bauchi Government House. He performed well across the state, extending hands of friendship to all and sundry,” he said.
