He warned that his administration would no longer tolerate any threat to peace and stability in the state.

Speaking through the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Garba Faskari during the Eid celebrations in Katsina, Governor Radda used the occasion not only to extend festive greetings but also to warn that the time for leniency was over.

“The task force on illegal encroachment has been empowered to act decisively,” the governor said, referring to recent unauthorised occupation of cattle routes, grazing reserves and forest areas, “a special court is now in place to ensure punitive measures against any defaulters.”

Governor Radda also used his address to confront the growing scourge of drug abuse, urging parents, religious leaders and community heads to take ownership of the battle for the future of Katsina youths.

“We must intensify awareness and education. This menace is destroying lives and threatening our future,” he said, calling for a united front against the menace.

He emphasised the link between environmental responsibility and public health, urging residents to keep their surroundings clean to prevent flood and disease outbreaks.

“The festive season should not distract us from our civic duties. Let us maintain our drainages and dispose of wastes properly,” he stated.

Commending the security agencies, Radda assured of continued government support and reiterated his call for residents to play active role in safeguarding their communities.

“Security is everyone’s responsibility. The government’s doors remain open to any citizen with information or advice that can help secure peace,” he said.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to long-term development, promising to continue investing in education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure and youth empowerment.

“Let us celebrate with humility, help our neighbours and promote harmony in our communities,” he said, “May Allah accept our sacrifices and sustain peace in Katsina State and Nigeria as a whole.”

Earlier, the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmuminin Kabir Usman, identified envy, hatred and lack of God-fearing as major challenges facing the state, and urged the people to always assist those in need and fear Allah as written in the Quran and make the society better.
