The funds were presented by the governor’s wife, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir, to the beneficiaries at a ceremony held at the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Birnin Kebbi.
While presenting the gift, Zainab Nasir Idris urged the beneficiaries to utilise what they received to boost their businesses in order to become self-reliant.

Owner of the foundation, Hajiya Asma’u Waziri said the gesture is part of her foundation’s empowerment programme to support Kauran Gwandu Door -to- Door movement for continuity.

Waziri also explained that the initiative complements Governor Idris’ policies aimed at improving the living standards of society’s less-privileged women and helping them become self-reliant.

She called on well-to-do individuals to emulate the foundation’s efforts so as to reduce poverty among the people, particularly women.
